I know. It's cold out. We got snow on the ground. I was watching Food Network. Something ice cream came on. I wanted some. I kept thinking of this recipe I had. It works in my ice cream maker bowl for my Kitchen Aid mixer. A real simple recipe.
1 pint of whipping cream
4 oz of granulated sugar
4 very ripe bananas
I did add a cup of milk to the cream. So it was not so rich but more like ice cream from the store.
I put the ingredients in a bowl. Cutting the bananas in chunks. I ran my cordless stick blender through it. Pureeing it. Making sure all the sugar was completely disolved and mixed in. Covered the bowl of ice cream mix. Put it back in the fridge. Allowed it to get real cold. Then put it in my ice cream maker bowl. When it got real thick like a thick thick shake. I put the ice cream in a contain. Covered and put in the freezer to harden up It tastes pretty good. Next time I might change the recipe up a bit. Might make it more like banana split. Adding pecans and strawberries to the mix. But cutting back on the sugar to compensate for sweetness from the fruit. This recipe is for any type of ice cream maker.
