This is what I sent my elderly Aunt. Good deal or no. She lives in Massachusetts.
This is what I sent via Peapod grocery delivery service from Stop & Shop, this includes taxes, delivery fee and gas surcharge.
1 lb Strawberries
6 each bananas
1 pound thick slice bacon
3 pounds ground beef
3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
Fish sticks Gordon's
French Fries oreida
Frozen broccoli, green beans and cauliflowers store brand
5 pound bag of sugar
dish wash liquid Palmolive
laundry soap Purex
kleenex store brand
toilet paper store brand
lawn & leaf size trash bags store brand
60 cans of cat food store brand
Because I chose to deliver on Wednesday, it was only $3.99, saving $6.00. There is a 99 cent fuel surcharge. It is FREE if you order and then go and PICK IT UP yourself. They have specials on the site when you pick delivery times. If there are not many deliveries, the site adds discounts to the schedule.
Sorry, I paid $91.68. Peapod was a service I used when my sister was diagnosed with brain cancer, which she later died from. I did what I could to make sure she had what she needed.
96 loads of Purex, two boxes of store brand kleenex, 12 rolls of tp, 25 ounce Palmolive, 96% lean ground beef, Oscar Meyer bacon.
I only purchased what was on sale as 'loss leaders' and purchased the correct amount of cans of cat food to get the store bonus card, which I signed up for. I am looking up coupons now that I can load up onto that card, too. I will get a paper invoice once the groceries are delivered, copy of the signature of who signed for them, etc. What I think is great about this is I live in Alabama, not anyplace near it, so I am happy I have a way to take care of an elderly Aunt, who is limited by weather and health to make sure she has what she needs.
