I have a migraine so I am not sure if I did this correctly.
In other words, help me play stump my budget, because my head hurts.
Last week I purchased two FREE L'oreal hair color kits, FREE, but the cashier charged me $4.99 EACH. Okay, 4.99 times two, plus 10% tax. I got my refund today for $10.97. I had another coupon for free hair color kit, so I paid $1 for it. Three hair color kits, $3 total cost.
I took that $10 to Rite Aid, I had a $5 bonus amount on my card. I purchased some baby aspirin, I had a $4.50 coupon off each of the three $9.99 bottles and a $2.25 coupon on the bottle that cost $4.75. If I purchased $30 worth of that product I would get $20 on my next days visit. I am planning on getting some vitamins. So, I ended up paying $20.86 for a future offer of $20 off, net (?) .86 cents? I paid by check, so I took the cash with me to CVS. Also, Rite Aid screwed up my order and refunded me $5.99. (which is still in my purse)
My next visit was to CVS where I had a rain check for $5 for an 8 pack of paper towels, plus a $2 (and I had two $1 off/pack coupons) bonus bucks. So I paid $10 plus $1 tax, or $11.00
CVS also had store brand laundry soap 64 loads on sale 2 for $6, I bought 4 each, or $12.00 less the $2 bonus bucks, so $10 plus $1 tax, $11 total. I paid for that with the $10.97 from the Walgreen's refund, net cost .03 cents?
I am confused. But, at the end of the day, I have three hair color kits, 4 bottles of baby aspirin (3 year expiration date), 16 rolls of paper towels and 4 bottles of 64 loads of laundry soap. I also have a $20 off coupon at Rite Aid, I am going to buy some vitamins, which are on sale, bogo 1/2, spend $25 on vitamins, get $15 bonus bucks for my next purchase.
I run my home like a business, I am in business to save my fanny a bunch of money. ![]()
I have a bad migraine so I am going to go hide in my cave of a bedroom.
Thank you, the pain finally ended, but I had to sleep it off. I made my bedroom a dark, cold, cave, put a cool eye mask on and attempt to ignore the kids squeals from outside now that it is Spring Break. I am a retired CPA, so I am always busting numbers and budgets.......old cpa's don't die, we just lose the point (pun) on our pencils. UGH.
I love my math, it helped me retire at age 40, from cancer, and I don't have to eat Alpo, ever.
Quoting chaslee:I would have a migraine too, if I tried to figure all of that out! lol. Looks like you did good.
Okay here's what I've got so far: I hope this helps. I know how debilitating a Migraine can be. I hope you feel better soon.
