Don't snap at my son!-Vent

Last night my son got a ride with one of his team mates mom, that is ok. Their school is downtown in a historic building remodeled, and the neighboring homes aren't the best. Well they got to the school at 10PM and I was there to pick them up. My son wanted to wait with one of the young girls 14 yrs old. The lady had the nerve to yell at him that it was safe to leave her there alone. UGH! Earlier that evening there was a drive by shooting at few blocks over, people still haven't been caught. Why leave a 14 yr old downtown at night and then snap at a 16 yr old who has the decency to want to stay to make sure everything was fine. I am so glad competition is over, I don't have to deal with them.

Yesterday I arrived at the school at 6:45 and a 16 yr old is standing out in the snow for an hour because his parents had to work. 25 degrees and snowing, in a bad part of town. Why not ask the mentors or other parents to bring him.

Today was the final day and they got 22nd place :( worked hard, but didn't work as a team.

Wow!
Well it's obvious you are raising a gentleman. Good for you mama.

Some people are not bright, no point taking it out on the kind kid....

I would never snap at a young man who knows how to be a decent human being.  Don't worry, your raising him right and he is showing that.

First of all don't yell at my son.

Second he was being a gentleman by waiting with the young lady.

What the heck is wrong with her?  Me... I would have been all up in her face.

Thank you, he is always thinking of others safety. I just don't understand why she'd be the way she was.

Things like this always take me by surprise. I wanted to be up in her face, but like everyone else standing there was in shock.
