Cookie Swap Party- Update in red

I want to make invitations this time for free on my computer instead of buying them. All the free card invitation websites I have come across are either ecards, you must upgrade (pay) to get printable cards, or none lets me make my own. I don't have a program on my computer to make them either. Any ideas would be appreciated.

UPDATE: Invitations are made and I am comencing the party today. For pictures of the party, check back this weekend. Thanks again ladies for the help!

On page 2, I wrote what games i'm having and all the details. I hope this post can give some inspiration to any mom on here considering having a cookie exchange party.

I won MS Professional 2013

Quoting specialwingz:

TBH, even printing on your computer is going to cost you.  Sometimes, you can get a cheap program in the electronics department at Target, Walmart, etc for like $9.  Then a pack of cardstock.  By that time, you could have bought a pack of premade invitations for $5.

But, every computer comes with a word processing program of some sort.  For most, it's MS Works.  You can use it to create invitations.  You can type what you want and format it to your liking.  You can find free clip art on the internet and paste it into your document to dress it up.

I would suggest looking at what your computer has on it, and go to youtube and google how to use that program if you don't already know.  I'm sure someone has it covered.

For me, I have professional programs that I work with.  But, that's the expensive route.  LOL.

Thanks gals! I can't wait to have the party. Last time I had one was back in 2009.

I agree with this.
Though I do love making invitations!

why not just go to $1 store and get a couple packs of invitations for $1 each. by the time you buy paper and ink.you've spent more than that

I'm getting so excited ladies! Tomorrow is the big day for the cookie exchange! I invited 12 people and 6 are attending (with kids its 10). I'm making veggie pizza as a finger food and for drinks- sweet tea, hot tea, coffee and of course, milk.

The guests will be playing 5 games. Game #1- What's in your purse? (ex: pen, wallet, tissue). Each item that the guest has counts as a point. Whoever has the most wins a prize. Game #2- Speedy Bakery- A volunteer will be picked to wear a full apron and each guest will have to wear oven mitts while trying to tie the apron. The fastest one wins and the prize is the apron and the oven mitts. Game #3- Pop It!- Each guest will receive a balloon. Once everyone has a balloon, the guests have to blow it up, tie it and sit on it to pop it. The fastest one wins a prize. Game #4- What's my name again?- Each guest will get 5 stickers. (This game will be played the whole time the party is going on.) At this point, the guest will no longer be referred to as their real name. Whatever cookies she brought is now her name for the party. For example: Beth will now be called chocolate chip. If a guest forgets and calls the other guest by her real name a sticker will be taken away by the guest who catches the flub up. At the end of the party whomever has the most stickers wins a prize. Game #5- Road Trip Madlibs. I will randomly pic a guest to give me a noun, adjective, verb, etc. After the madlib is filled out, I will then proceed to read back the entire passage. This one will be hilarious I bet.

I am making 2 kinds of cookies since only half the people invited are showing. Mine will be hot chocolate cookies and lemon ginger drop cookies. I have asked everyone to bring 3 dozen cookies. That way, we all get to try 1 of each and take a bunch home.

I will upload pics this weekend after the party is over. Ahhh i'm so excited! hehe
