Quoting Mabuka:

What's a cheeseburger salad?
  • 6 to 8 cups torn salad greens
  • 1 lb. ground beef, browned with 1 chopped onion
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 20 to 24 oz. dill pickles, drained & chopped
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 to 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. prepared mustard

While still warm, add ground beef to salad greens and let cool slightly.  Add tomatoes, pickles, and cheese.  Make a dressing of mayonnaise and mustard and stir into salad.  Serve

I only plan for dinners really since I don't have to cook break-fest because it's a grab and go for me and DD eats at school.  I also don't plan for lunch because for me it's leftovers or I just take something I can find in the fridge to work.

9/1 Dinner - casserole sausage & potatoes

9/2 Dinner - heading to the state fair

9/3 Dinner - fried pork chops with mashed potatoes with gravy

9/4 Dinner - spaghetti

9/5 Dinner - grilled hamburgers with baked beans

9/6 Dinner - either leftovers from the week or mac&cheese with baked chicken

My meals feed a family of 4, me DH (who eats a LOT of food) my almost 7 year old and almost 2 year old)

Last night, we had a store rotisserie chicken that I got with a coupon for $3.50 (and got a free soda with it)  and we only ate half of it, mac and cheese, 2 boxes that I paid $.35 each plus the butter and milk so I probably spent $1 total then frozen veggies that I got for $.45 plus biscuits that were $1 for a can. So $6 for the whole meal but DH took some of it to work for lunch and the chicken and biscuits will stretch to tomorrow's dinner

Tonight we will have the other half of the chicken, a box of chicken helper (I just make it as a side dish) that I got for $.70 plus again, the ingredients so probably $1.50 a box, another thing of veggies, again $.45 and the other half of the biscuits so $2

Tuesday: we will have Chief Boy R Dee pizza kits. Using 2, 2 pizza kits to make 2 large pizzas. I got both kits for free by calling the company last time because there was no Parmesan cheese in one of my boxes, one thing of cheese that I got $5.99 but it was BOGO free and a package of pepperoni that was $4. This makes one pepperoni pizza and one cheese. To that I will add a Cesar salad kit that was BOGN free with $1 each they were $1 each. This will make 2 dinners and costs $9 for both meals and will be enough for lunch for me, DH and the baby while my older child is at school

Wednesday will be a roast cooked in the crock pot. The roast was $10, the boxed mashed potatoes were actually free, a bag of frozen veggies for $.45, a can of biscuits that were $1 and 2 packages of gravy that were $1 for 2. This will make 2 dinners and at least 1 or 2 lunches

Thursday

pizza and the salad again, the cost came out of Tuseday's dinner

Friday

the other half of the roast, another  free mashed potato, 2 more gravy packets, the other half of the biscuits and a $.45 veggie. so $1.45

Saturday

I have coupons for BOGO free adult meals at chick fil a and free coupons for kids meals from church so we are going to have that as a treat.
