What do you clean your carpets with?

I used oxydol and cheap $1 detergent from the dollar store.

The pre wash spray for clothes. As soon as the stain happens. Have even been known to pour it on a bad stain.

I have used that but my son just bought a  home and we are cleaning all the carpets.

I use a carpet cleaner that I buy in bulk at SAMs club. It's an industrial version, and works really good.

Hot water and vinegar.  Sometimes I will add a few drops of tea tree oil.

I got some stain remover stuff when my son dumped a bowl of ravoli on my brand new carpet.  I usually just just that squirted on a stain and then steam clean with hot water over it.  I don't steam clean my carpets on a regular basis.

We rent a steam cleaner.....but our carpets are getting pretty old now and need replacement.  It seems cleaning them is not very effective these days.
