What is your holiday-shopping strategy?

Are you a traditional Black Friday shopper? Do you go to Woot! and Amazon and EBay every day to check for daily deals? Are you buying everything at Walmart and then spending the next month extensively poring over other ads for a good Ad Match deal? You heading to Kmart for their layaway?

Amazon Prime for about 90%.  The savings on gas and impulse buying at a retail store is worth it.  Plus with two babies it is safer and easier.

looking for hand made ideas though.

I shop online for most everything but stocking stuffers.  That increases the variety from which I can select, and it saves me on gas and those stupid impulse purchases.

I make my list, watch for deals, and save up Amazon gift cards to pay for my purchases from there.  So far I have 2/3 of my shopping done, and I've paid $12.42 out of pocket.  Saving up more AGC for the rest.

I look for deals... have a bagie full of coupons and I also do layaway so I get it at the sale price while it's available and everything is paid off on Christmas.

Like others, I have also nearly completely moved all my big holiday shopping to online. For the adults in my life, especially. For my kids, I shop throughout the year at consignment sales and on Craigslist. I very often have their big gifts done by the end of the summer (no so this year, ugh).

I don't do black friday, I do cyber Monday and use Ebates where cash-back almost always doubles and triples for Cyber Monday (and often a little longer). Saving an extra 30% is huge. I also check in to the daily deals on Amazon. I don't know. It is a bit addictive and fun.

I really never stop shopping, but never need to specifically go Christmas shopping. As I see things on sale, or perfect for someone throughout the year I buy them and stow them in the attic. That way it's only a little money here and there instead of trying to budget everyone at once. My last shopping is done online. I used to go to black Friday with a friend. We would sit with coffee and watch the crazy people. After what happened one year I never went back. A 40ish year old woman snatched a toy right out of the hands of a 5 year old boy and knocked him over, the mom wasn't in sight, and I was young/stupid/angry. I went up to the lady and grabbed the toy out of her cart when she went to grab it back I hit her. I held the little boys hand and we went and found his mom, SHE WASNT EVEN LOOKING FOR HIM!!!! She tried to yell at me for touching her son so I handed her the toy, told her what the other lady did and walked away before I hit her too. I did get escorted out but when I told them what the lady did they told me she'd be kicked out too.

How do you like Ebates? I've been using Fat Wallet.
