Welcome to Day 10 of the 12 Days of Holiday Savings Challenge!

What's the true meaning of Christmas? Let's face it, it's not all about the gifts, but many people may feel that way, especially kids. Whether by donating to Toys for Tots, helping your local food bank, or adopting a child from an angel tree, teach your kids the joy of giving and help make the holidays brighter for someone in need.

Do your kids expect a lot of presents for Christmas?
Does your family give back for the holidays and/or throughout the year?

my kids know better than to expect a lot of gifts, although they think it can't hurt to ask  LOL

if we can, we do try to give back....all year long.

I was able to help someone this year. Not do their whole christmas but a couple gifts for the kids. It was nice. The last couple years were struggles for me. This year was better

Love this idea , but it is usually easy to give in then hold back

My daughter is all about the giving. She was happy that she took her gifts to school already because today school was cancelled due to icy conditions. She gave a gift to the substitute teacher. She even gave a Christmas card to the classroom bully! LOL (she's not a bully but she can be mean!) DD hasn't complained about not receiving gifts.

I don't think my kids really care about the gifts. I mean they do, but they don't stress me out about it! We also avoid the stores when we can. The advertising for Christmas drives us nuts!

The true meaning of the holiday season? I have yet to figure that out.

We volunteer and donate year-round.

My kids don't expect a lot of gifts, but we have certain traditions they have grown to love. We "give back" throughtout the year but have done shoeboxes in the past when the drop off location was nearby.

My son doesn't expect much.  He has only asked for 4 things this year.

I try to give back as much as possible all year long.
