My 10yo tried to "bake" rice krispie treats. With all the hours I've been working I hadn't gotten around to making them with her so she decided she would do it and surprise me so she didn't ask for help when she didn't understand the recipe she googled on her own. And she also tried to add chocolate chips on top. Glad she used the wax paper. Lol. That woulda been a mess. I was kinda irritated she wasted food but I couldn't fuss at her. I did have to talk to her and tell her it's okay to ask for help.

It sounds like she wants to learn to cook (based on this and your avocado post). Is there a school or park district class you can sign her up for, or someone you know who has the time to teach her a few basics?

I've been teaching her things myself. She helps me cook dinner.

well it doesn't look too bad. How did it taste? Sometimes mistakes in cooking can turn into new favorites.
