Check online to see if there are any good hotel deals, bring some food with you for snacks and maybe meals to save money

Bring a portable grill for dinner. Try to find a hotel that has a fridge. Go mid-week if you can.

Maybe get a hotel that serves a free breakfast

Do you have lodging? if not, try groupon or living social or look on VRBO for last minute cabin rentals with full kitchen then eat in or make picnic lunches to take to the beach.

Camping at a place with cabins. Much cheaper and take your own food.

Take food for breakfast and snacks. If you can get an efficiency you could cook some meals. Homewood suites is good. They serve a big breakfast, and they say they serve light snacks beer and margueritas at night, but it's really a meal. It saved us a lot.

Check airbnb.com and see what they have in the area you are looking.

Def bring your own food! Food away from home is the biggest expense! Look for gas coupons too and pay in advance on the hotel usually saves a bit :)
