I am looking for an inexpensive way to change the dark, wood paneling in our dining room to something brighter. Besides painting, any ideas?

wall paper and painting are what I used.

Maybe some bright/light wall decor?

Not sure, never have done anything to wood paneling

Put up drywall right over top of it, but that isn't exactly cheap.  I've looked at house with wood paneling and we kept looking.

I think we will do that when we remodel, but that is years away.

Painting made a big difference in my friend's kitchen.  Why dont you want to paint?

One reason is that we have a huge fish tank that I do not want to move too many times. Another is time

Plus I don't want to paint and have it look bad. Then it would be a waste of time and resources.
