Cut down your grocery list by not throwing away your green onions and lettuce even onions all you need is the stem/ root side that you usually throw away with lettuce of any kind and green onions you can pick them several times a month , this is after just 2 days. All you need is a cup( I used Popsicle molds because I had a smaller head of lettuce) and some water and they grow they don't need sunlight so you can grow where ever year around.
And you don't have to have a green thumb ( I sure don't) .

I grew celery like this (with a bigger container) and I know there are other veggies you can grow the same way.

Celery ,leeks, cabbage ,onions ,green onions scallions , boc Choy, fennel , lemon grass , and lettuce its crazy how much I've wasted throwing away my scraps. But I just wanted to name ones that can be grown in water because they are easy to grow and good if you don't have time or space for a garden and you do t have to buy dirt just use what you have at home.
