The guys are up getting tuxes for the wedding, and DH is buying a suit (he doesn't have one.)  If they spend over $350 total, they'll get 50% off, PLUS if they apply for a store card they'll get an additional 20% off this purchase.  They're going to put all of the tuxes and the suit on one purchase....$260 tuxes for $78 each!!!!!  That's cheaper than renting.

Have you ever gotten a store card/credit card in order to get a deal like this?

Awesome! We have done that with Best Buy, but that was a long time ago. Last computer we bought, I got straight from HP. it was the cheapest way to get what I wanted.

I have a Kohl's charge card.  I get extra savings and I can use script to pay it off every month which saves me on tuition.

I also have an amazon credit card which I use for all my purchases.  I pay it off each month and get points which I can use for purchases or airline tickets.

The key is I never have a balance at the end of the month.

That's a great deal. Often when shopping they will have a similar offer. So I get the card, pay it off when the first bill comes in,so I don't end up paying interest, then cancel the card.

Yes. This is why I have a credit card for every major department store. Haha.

I pretty much only use them when they are offering bonuses like this. Whenever a clerk says, "Do you have a ______ card with us?" I always answer, "Yes. What are you going to give me today for using it?"

If they say "nothing," I use my normal credit card.

Sweet deal!

We accrue $10 credits on our LLBean Visa, which we always pay in full every month. The credit at LLBean buys all kinds of good gear for my son that really stands up to his lifestyle: backpack, rain coat, snow pants, ice skates... And since we use the coupons, we pay way less out of pocket than it would cost to buy lower quality stuff at a box store. Big win.
