I cloth diaper, use family cloth and wipes for baby, hang dry most clothes

I also follow a couponing blog on facebook to match coupons to sales at the local grocery store

I try to get the best deal I can on every purchase...sometimes that means scratch and dent, clearance, Craigslist, ebay.  And of course sales and coupons.

I keep food spoilage to the absolute minimum. Everything gets used.  Takes a bit of planning but I swear it saves us a ton on groceries.

We use as much natural light as possible instead of lights in the house.  It also helps heat the house during winter.

I make seasoning mixes, salad dressings, sauces, and gravies from scratch.

We follow a nutrient dense diet that excludes bread, cereal, pasta, legumes, refined sugar, and processed foods.  We don't eat as much because we get full faster, and our grocery bill actually dropped.

I will make my own laundry soap if I have to.

I grow a lot of veggies:  salad greens, green beans, carrots, tomatoes, onions, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, etc.  We also have apple and cherry trees, grape vines, and strawberry beds.  I preserve what we don't eat fresh.

I plan meals before shopping so that I'm taking advantage of what I have in the house, what is on sale, so I can plan to use leftovers, and so that I'm not buying things we don't need.

We are fortunate to have a son that fixes computers and can do most car repairs.  We buy the parts, he'll fix them for us.  I can even get the auto parts on discount because I work at a repair garage.
