It's random. I use Johns background switcher and it switches the background every 8 hours with pics I have stored on my computer or flickr.

I change mine at LEAST once a month to fit the changing four seasons, holidays and my interest, personality and mood.

Earlier this month I had a 3D winter image and now I have a cute deer eating a snowman's carrot nose. I will change it again before christmas to something focused on christmas
