Sometimes it seems everyone has the cool apps loaded on their phones before you. And this happens to both Android and iPhone users. How do they find those apps? There must be a better way then going to each device's corresponding app store and doing a search on top downloads (free and paid). This is the exact quandary Lifehacker set out to settle, and in perfect Lifehacker style, it did. Here's what the experts there had to say:
For Android users, the Android MarketPlace is your best bet. It wasn't when it first debuted, but now it's well organized and makes it easy to find all the apps you could want. An alternative is AppBrian. Before the Android MarketPlace became what it is today, AppBrain was the "it" app site for Android phone users. It's still a great android app resource, and share your installed apps and discovered apps with others via Facebook, and offers a great curated selection of trending and interesting apps based on AppBrain staff.
iPhone users have iTunes and with a gazillion of apps, it can be hard to navigate and find just the app you want. There are several apps that help you discover new apps you might want on your iPhone, but Lifehacker recommends Discovr because Discovr makes it easy to find what you're looking for by mapping apps you like (or any app at all) to related options you may enjoy as well.
What was the last app you downloaded to your phone?
I haven't downloaded any apps on my new phone yet. All the stuff I would of downloaded camep redownloaded on my phone. The only one that is missing is a ICE app. I haven't seen any good ones in the Android market yet.
