Are you ready to lose your unlimited data???? Most will after 6/28.(Verizon)

As of June 28,2012 if you go to upgrade your device, in order to keep your unlimited you will have to buy your phone at FULL price. If you buy at there discounted price you will be forced into a shared everything plans.

Here is the data pricing for the share plans...

  • 1GB for $50
  • 2GB for $60
  • 4GB for $70
  • 6GB for $80
  • 8GB for $90
  • 10GB for $100

From Verizon...

I have an unlimited data plan on my account. Do I need to change it?

You're not required to move to Share Everything but if you do, unlimited data will not be retained on your line. As a Verizon Wireless customer you have choices when you upgrade at discounted pricing. You can choose from a standalone data package starting at $30 for 2GB or a Share Everything Plan. If keeping unlimited is important to you, you can choose to upgrade and pay full retail price for the phone.

Looks like I will be paying full price from now on :/

...and this is why I will stick with Sprint and/or Boost Mobile. There are no data limits.

This is why we decided to switch to T-Mobile instead of renewing our Verizon contract. We're getting the same plan we had with Verizon before they started changing things, plus unlimited minutes instead of 700 shared, for the same price.

When are you due for an upgrade and do you currently have a 3G phone?

I'm asking because they have been letting people upgrade early from a 3G to 4G phone.

I just renewed last June and I got a 4g then because I tend to keep my phones until they die.
