I have Netflix/Hulu plus. I have a Wii in our living room, and one in my son's room because he plays games/watches tv.

For my room I dont want to play games so what do you ladies suggest that is reasonable cost for me to be able to watch Netflix/hulu plus on my tv in my room. I do not have cable.

They make things called Netflix Players, but I don't know how much they cost. There are also "smart" DVD players that have the Netflix app built into them - ours was about $75.

Check out the WD TV Live box, similar to Roku but does more, at least that's what DH tells me. we have one in our bedroom so we can stream from all the programs as well as straight from his computer via wifi.

I just use an extra old laptop and connect to my tv.  As long as you have a newer tv with a video port, all you need is the same cord that goes between a standard computer and monitor (whether HDMI or VGA).
