Kindle Fire HD

Currently Amazon has them priced at $199.00.  Do you think they are worth that?  Do you think they will go on sale before Christmas?

They will not go on sale before Christmas.  I have had my kindle for at least a year and have not ever seen it on sale.  I will say that I think it's a great tablet.  But still can't convince my daughter to get it instead of the Ipad (she is 11 and is stuck in the ipad world)

I don't have one, but everyone I know is happy with theirs. Worth it.

They won't go on sale, they're already being sold for less than it costs to make them. at least the first gen were, cost about $220 to make, sold for $200. I love mine it works great after a year of using it daily.

I work with a woman that has a Kindle fire and says it is not worth the extra money and she should have gotten just a kindle touch.

If you're only going to read books, then I agree. but I read books, play games, watch netflix, surf the web etc on mine as well.

A couple friends of mine own one and they really enjoy them. I doubt they go down too much since we're this close to the holidays.
