I often wonder are we really seeing a true epidemic or is it that we just finally really know what we are seeing?
Regardless of what the reason or/causes we have a significant increase in diagnosis.
EPIDEMIC:An illness or condition that spreads rapidly & affects a large # of people.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
???????THIS IS THE PROBLEM ---WE HAVE NO UNITY IN THESE???
Now ladies what is your opinion on this ......
CAN WE TALK???![]()
I don't feel it's an epidemic but I do think it needs to be studied/ researched, it's not all just people diagnosed easier...
Quoting aidensmomma508:I agree with you i mean they show that people had it as early as 1948 but were only diagnosing the worst cases .i think alotta kids went undiagnosed becaus ethey were not severe enough!!!I don't feel it's an epidemic but I do think it needs to be studied/ researched, it's not all just people diagnosed easier...

For kids that get it like mine (vaccs) it something that has always been there but now the numbers are going up because of how they do the vaccs. More shots, more shots blended together, more heavy metals in them to preserve shelve life (which means mercury!), things like that have made the numbers just jump through the roof.
We live in a small town, less than 10,000 people. We also have a coal burning power plant rated the worst polluter in the state of WI just outstide of our town. My son is in Kindergarten this year. The total number of kindergarteners in this years class is 75 of those 75 children 8 of them have an Autism Diagnosis. You tell me..... there's is a problem here!
I don't necessarily believe it's an epidemic. I think it has a lot to do with we now know what we are looking for. More awareness and education playing a big part. In my daughter's case, her vaccs triggered her regression. It most certainly didn't cause it, it only pulled the trigger imo.
I was told by a pediatric neurologist that 10 years ago my child would have been just called delayed and would not have gotten as many services. Also the spectrum has been increased and includes more and more behaviors. I really believe that kids are being diagnosis and earlier. I was reluctant at first to believe this but it got him into services sooner and he is making great progress.
I have been wondering the same thing and I just hope that children aren't being misdiagnosed when what they have is something else like behavior problems or some other medical problem. There has to be a reason why this is happening though and I sure would like to see the medical world get to the bottom of it and see if there is something that can be done about it.
