We're so proud of Toby! He's our 9 yo with hfa. We took our boys ice skating yesterday for the first time. Most of the time when we go do something, Toby's ready to go home after about 5 minutes. Well, I had our 5 yo and DH had Toby. They both loved it and are ready to go back! Toby can hardly stand on the ice on his own, but he kept trying! That's a milestone for him! Toby lasted 1 hour & 45 minutes of a 2 hour skate. Trystan was done after 1 hour & 30 minutes. We live an hour from everywhere, so we won't be doing this a lot, but at least we know that we won't be wasting money when we go do it again.
DH said a girl skated up to him and said "Hi Toby". He said "Hi". DH asked him who that was, and he didn't know. DH asked if she was in his class this year and he said "I think not". It's amazing how we go places & kids will know him and say "Hi", but he doesn't know their name.
It really was a good day, but we had all we were going to get out of him after that. There was a hockey game after the public skate. We started watching it and Toby said "Can we go home now?" I told DH Toby's ready to go and we left.
Quoting Kittie26:
That is awesome that he did so well. Yay for good days!
