its official, i'm now a homeschool mom to an autistic child.....
today and tomorrow rj does not have public school....but he does have harpster's table time! so far we've done phonics lessons on the computer(darn i could not get the math to work) , we've done practice writing our letters and two reading lessons with writing and matching the pictures to the word. He's had a few minor episodes, but has really done well! we are on to science now...wish me luck and i'll write all about our day more this evening...maybe even some pictures of our bear project with coffee grounds....god bless

here's the bear pictures...no i am not going to always homeschool rj...only my birth children. rj needs speech therapy and other things more that i cannot offer right now. but we sure had fun today having him. he loved reading about the bears in science class. he also hlped make cabbabe rolls today and jello salad. he seems to really like to create. he also has a fascination for kinex. he has a small box of them we've sorted from the legos. he loves them! I sure wish it was summer and i could go garage saleing to find a few more. anyway we had a pretty productive day...including...a nap for me and the kiddos :) god bless
Right now I am a stay home mom to a autistic son, and a ADHD son. I love it.
up until a year ago in may i have been working away from home. we also sent our children to public school until a year ago last fall. we made a switch and are truly loving it. iam not working from home and we are on our second year of homeschooling. i cannot believe we ever did it any other way. Now, we have been blessed with full-time caregiving of my 8 y-old ppd/mr nephew. its sure been different, but we are handling it, i believe, like pros. my oldest son has adhd,so we have had a little practice with dealing with non traditional learners and special needs. today was the first day my nephew rj has been home all day with us on a homeschool day. we did not complete everything today like we usually do...but we had FUN and thats all i wanted for a start....god bless you all
