I'm mobile and can't make it clickable...if someone could provide a working link or copy and paste the article that would be great.

Your thoughts on McCarthy's statements.

Don't u know it has to be fine China and we have to throw them out when we r done cuz we can't worry about getting dishes done.
Haha my hubby is laughing his ass off at ur post. He hates her too thinks she needs to just shut up and stop telling others what to do with their kids.

Okay, so maybe you ladies can help me out.  My pity party is scheduled for Saturday, and I can't decide whether my napkins should be blue or gray.  Also, should I be drinking chardonnay or merlot while I sob on the couch?  Curtains--open or closed, to add to the gloom?  Sadly, our weather forecast is for sun, can you believe it?   How I am going to feel properly sorry for myself on a beautiful sunny day?

I F-ing hate Jenny McCarthy.

First I think a lot of families had a difficult time with the diagnoses. I know I cried, but I certainly didn't throw a pity party and I didn't have family or friends and whoever falling all over me. But once I read my bible and realized my boy can be healed, I was fine. I think she is a little nutty. Anytime you got to show your naked body in a magazine, claim it was so tasteful, just to get some attention is ridiculous. You are a momma. Have some respect. Plus she's to old to be doing that stuff, time to grow up. But you know what I live in los angeles, and these people in hollywood are just different.

that's funny. i didn't hear of her until she found an alternative solution for the dx. seems to me that was pretty nice of her to share. do you think that she helped no one? it is very true that some people love having sick children. if that applies to you, then change and if it doesn't, then she wasn't talking about you.

i wish she'd put down the crack her thoughts came out of LOL

This woman goes around feeding off her own self-pity for having a "defective" child who needs to be cured.  She needs to get a life & the first way to do it is to stop calling attention to the fact that her son has autism.  She's the one with the problem, plain & simple.  She needs to be cured, not the ones on the spectrum.  Wish she'd just crawl back into the crack she crawled out of!

I'm not a McCarthy-hater so I'm sure I'm in the minority here. I agree with what she said about a lot of parents of kids with autism. Instead of doing everything they can to physically help their child they just leave them as they are. I don't believe it can be cured but lots can be helped naturally.

I'm also not at the opposite end of the spectrum where I believe autism isn't something that needs help or cured. I feel that's a defense mechanism. I don't need to be told that my kids are normal or that I'm normal or tell myself that to feel better about myself or them.

I think she shouldn't have made a blanket statement but I'm with her in the attitude that it's ridiculous that parents wouldn't do everything they can to help their childs body function at full capacity. I think lots of parents get stuck in the diagnosis phase and don't move past it but not all of them.

LOL I agree. I think her information is extremely helpful. But I also choose to live a more natural lifestyle and care enough to change my kids diet if it helps them.

What Jenny talks about is real stuff and can truly help lots of people not just autistic people. Our society fills their bodies with garbage and chemicals daily and thinks it's totally normal. Our bodies function much better with healthy preservative free foods.

I've seen too many "journalists" take words and twist them to make something totally different and sensationalized for attention. I don't trust the media. I like to hear a person's comments on audio or video in their entirety.

Assuming that the journalism is accurate, I am quite offended. However, I have seen too many articles that are way off base and inaccurate, twisting words to get a lot of attention and notice. So, I'd have to see the original comment in context in the form of a video to make my final determination

What kind of context do you need, really?  I'm not sure how what she said is OK in ANY context.
