Do your children complain of being physically ill a lot?

My son is diagnosed with PDD NOS. For months now, he has complained of stomach aches, headaches, nausea, feeling dizzy. Migraines run in my family and seasonal allergies on my DH's side. The headaches didn't surprise me. I brought him to a specialist at Boston Children's hospital for the stomach aches and nausea and all the testing they did, just blood tests, were normal.

I don't know if this is anxiety, allergies, or something else. He is seeing a gastroenterologist and a therapist. Should I check for allergies? I suspect that milk might bother him. Sometimes he seems better off of dairy. It is hard to tell what it is all about.

Yes. My son and Iboth complained a lot about that.

We went gluten free and started taken some vitamins geared at helping the brain/migraine issues and the combination pretty much eliminated all of those symptoms for us.

We are gluten-free, low carb-ish, no real processed foods, pretty much organic meats/veggies kind of a diet.

We take fish oil, vitamin B's, fiber - and Taurene for migraine related problems.

The combo pretty much resolved almost all of my "i feel like i'm going die" every day feelings and chronic migraines/headaches.

Some of my issues are sensory related, but the ones your describing were diet/vitamin related and the combo fixed  a lot of it.

The healthier the body, the better everything works.

No.  My son has a lot of allergies and occasional headaches (which I suspect are more allergy related), but I know when he's really sick because he literally turns green!

No that's not a problem for us. But where do you live?  I am on the south shore (Randolph).

i always had these issues as a child and as an adult too. lately its just my ears that bug me once a month - planning on going to see a doc to see if its more then just related to my period when it seems to happen.(i have many many autistic traits so feel that i may be autistic btw) for me eating healthier and exercising has kept a lot of those feelings at bay...i hope you are able to find a solution!

My son complains of being sick... he always has a headache or something.  I tend to just watch his behavior because when he's really sick he acts like it...meaning he's not jumping around or being overly obnoxious.  My ds does get constipated fairly often so if he's complaining of a stomach ache I tend to suspect that.

No. Never, or rarely in our case.

My son is 3 and considered nonverbal. I was concerned about his loose stools and constipation. I was also concerned because he was getting diaper rashes and eczema breakouts. I couldn't really get answers from his pediatrician except they said he might be lactose intolerant. I put him on the gf/cf diet and it helped him so much. I found later he was having some issues with soy, so we cut off soy too.

I noticed since he has been I the diet he has had remarkable improvements in everything from speech to PT. He has a lot more energy and is so much happier.
