See what CafeMoms are saying about saving time this holiday season..
After what I handled with mason I'd be perfect to be a paramedic. LOL
Sitting covered in your child's blood is scary but I just sat and handled it while Alex held him.
We put Mase to bed in our room and waited for him to be asleep, well we thought he was out for the count when we went downstairs, within 15 mins of leaving the room we heard glass breaking, Mase then came running COVERED in blood!
Alex FREAKED, i was like "WHAT THE ACTUAL F#CK!" His face, hands, feet, arms everything! I couldn't tell where the blood was coming from at 1st until i followed his bloodpath, He had a chunk of glass in the toe it was a friggin bloodbath. I guess he touched his cut andthen freaked with all the blood and tryed to wipe it off and just started touching his whole body with blood on his hands
I cleaned him off too see how deep and bad it was, if we need to go to the er or if i could use my dad's EMS bag's butterfly strips myself. Well after cleaning all the blood off and using 2 bottles of Bactine, i used tweezers to remove the glass, and re bactine washed it out make sure all other glass would surface.
After gauze pad box and pressure and he was fine. I didn't even notice what i looked like but I was COVERED face to toe in his blood it was so eerie but in the moment i wasn't even focused on anything but calming him and cleaning out what ever the wound was. Alex on the other hand was freaking saying "just call 9-1-1-" i was like "alex breathe, we're all okay, just check his head and rest of his body and tell me if it's getting colder okay? [making sure he wasn't losing enough blood to hemerage to death. scarey thought but anything is possible] i need you to just talk him thru this and do not look at the blood you or mason." Little did i know that was hard to do since it was even on my face -_- [i didn't realise i had it on my hands when i went to wipe my face] alex is also the type that if we that if we hit a bump on the freeway he'd scream "We;re all going to die" LOL worse person to be with in any emergancy situation ahaha.
My mom was a nurse my dad was police officer and paramedic and volunteer firefighter- I am taking my police exam in june, so I guess this the perfect test to see if i can hold it together in a scary ass situation LOL.I never thought I had the stomache to handle being a ER nurse like my mom was, but hmm i guess i i do LOL.
Mason is OKAY, a little limp with his walk but I changed his bandges this morning and he is already starting to scab at his cut. Completely avoided the er with fast thinking and remembering my parents skills- now if only my carpet could be saved LOL. This certainly answered my "Should mason have his own room" question and that's a big fat no, and what he broke...was not even in the room he went to the bathroom and broke a soap dish.
Never a dull moment. I have a feeling this won't be my last horror story being the mother of a boy LOL.
