school supplies

Joe is starting school in a few weeks and we got all of his papers in the mail today. But we didn't get a supplies list so I don't know what to send with him to school. I know I have to send his pull ups but I don't know what else to send. Any ideas of what to send? He is going to be in a special needs class that has anything from autism to downs. I thought they would send me a list but it wasn't in there. Any ideas would be great.

They asked me for diapers, wipes, snacks, extra water, and a change of clothes. They also said to put on sunblock in the morning. I also sent in his cup, a plate from home, gf/cf/sf lunch, and gluten free play doh.

I thought they would of included a list since this is his first yr going to this school. :( but I do send extra clothes and pull ups and I put a box of wipes in his bag. I just don't know if I'm supposed to send crayons or any regular supplies. Im not really sure what they do during the day. It is only 8-11:20. I think I might call on Monday and see if I can get any answers on what I should do.

The school website will have it, or the local stores. Our preschool/4k doesnt request anything other than a backpack and kleenex...etc

You can always ask. I usually send extra paper towels, napkins, kleenex, ziplocks...etc

They need those the most

I looked on the site but it doesn't really have anything on there about what to send. It is a special ed class at a regular school. I'm going to try and call on Monday and see if they say what he will need. I might get some things like cleaning wipes and tissue crayons

At first, I was frustrated about the supply list. But then my friend who pays 13,000.00 a year for her 4 yr old to be in private school got the same list. So I guess it just is what it is.

Just call the school. They will be able to tell you what you need. It varies school to school.

I work in autistic pre k and we ask that the parents send a backpack, a full change of clothes, and diapers or pull ups if needed. Some things we really appreciate are hand sanitizer, wipes, tissues, snacks, and juice. Another thing they may appreciate if you feel like going above and beyond is an extra pack of diapers just in case a student runs out. I can't count how many times that has happened in my classroom and we've had to borrow from another student.
