I think I'll have to list ten, maybe not in order of favorite:

1.  What Dreams May Come

2.  To Kill a Mockingbird (I'm going to marry Atticus when I grow up)

3.  A Few Good Men (what can I say, I'm a lawyer?)

4.  Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

5.  The Princess Bride (saw 900 times as a kid)

6.  Kill Bill (1 & 2)(I love a girl who kicks a$$)

7.  I Heart Huckabees

8.  So many Brad Pitt movies ... maybe Thelma & Louise or A River Runs Through or Interview with a Vampire

9.  Steel Magnolias (I'm a southern girl)

10.  The English Patient (I only seem to like doomed romances)

What are yours? I reserve the right to adjust my list based on your responses.  Void where prohibited.

I like your taste! I loved the Lord Trilolgy-watched it again last year. And HP was very good-we had a marathon at Christmas-but it'snot one I'll try to sit down and watch again.

And I forgot all the M. Night movies-he made Bruce Willis a credible actor in my mind. It's dissappointing he hasn't had more recent, good films.

I may have to think about moving the Green Mile into mine. The Help & Gladiator also very good.

Some I haven't seen.

Ok-I would have to invest in Kleenex with that list!

I also love Runaway bride. All of her older stuff. Beaches-I almost put that instead of Steel Magnolias. But Julia has to have a place on my list.

I forgot A Time to Kill! And it won't let me edit (wonder why). I think I've seen that movie the mist besides Princess Bride and I never tire of seeing Matthew.

I also have a couple honorable mentions. The Professional and Man On Fire. Because I like men who kick a$$ over kids.

I am lame and don't go to the movies much, so most of mine are old, and not in any order of preference, but:

1.  Dangerous Liaisons.

2.  American Beauty.

3.  Chariots of Fire.

4.  The Maltese Falcon.

5.  Illegally Blonde.   (or whatever the name of that movie is)

6.  The Blues Brothers.

7.  Brassed Off.

8.  Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

9.  Fargo.

10. The Princess Bride.

It took me forever to make this list.  I have seen very few movies more than once, but read a lot of books more than once.  Not the most visual person.

I love Dangerous Liasons.

Somehow I have never seen the Blues Brothers. I meant to before I went to Chicago 2 years ago, but didn't get around to it.

You'll have to do a separate post on top 10 books (although I would also say short stories-my all time favorite is A Rose for Emily by Faulkner). It would take mr forever to compose that list.

Six out of my ten movies are all based on books that I have read multiple times. I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan, love the Bronte sisters, Tolkien, Anne Rice....the list includes all genres fiction and non. I tend to be able to delve completely into a book, so reading is a much more rewarding experience for me. So I totally get why you enjoy reading more! But I do love a good movie! We took the boys to see Spiderman this past weekend and really enjoyed it. :-)
