Where were you on that fateful morning, September 11, 2001?

In spite of what may divide us, let's come together and remember our fallen Americans and those who gave their lives on and after 9/11.

I was a college student in my 3rd year, and didn't have any morning classes. I was sleeping in when my roommate burst into my room to tell me a plane had hit the Pentagon (we live in MD, so she got that news first after her first class and didn't know about the World Trade Center). Both my other roommate and I got up and went downstairs to turn on the tv, only to see replay after replay of the planes hitting, people running, with breaks of that coverage for Pentagon coverage and Pennsylvania coverage, and wondering if more attacks would occur and where. We were glued, and we were crying. Classes on campus were canceled for the remainder of the day, and we all came together that evening for a candlelight vigil that evening.

I did not personally lose someone that day, but I was horrified. I can't even imagine the loss at a personal level. It must be unbearable, particularly at this time of year. ((HUGS to those who lost someone))

I will never forget that day  :(

I was a junior in high school sitting in my American History class.  One of the other teachers came running into our room yelling that a plane crashed into the WTC.  My teacher didn't believe it and basically ignored it.  Then, a few minutes later, someone else came in saying we had to turn the tv on.  We all watched as the plane crashed into the second tower.  The rest of the day was a blur and none of the teachers made us do any work.  Students could go home if they had rides or knew someone in the WTC or Pentagon.

Oh. Guess I assumed everyone had more vivid memories of that day like I do. Most of my life is a blur, but that day stands still in my head.

I was a sophomore in high school and I was in Spanish class. The principal came over the loud speaker and announced the towers have been hit. I remember seeing kids running down the hall crying. I only live 30 minutes from the city so many kids in the school have family that work out there. I had just moved to NY so I didn't even know how important this all was until they let us out of school early and i got home and seen the news.
