My son is always covering his ears because of sounds. I got him some head phones and the seem to help a lot. His behavior has improved. I'm interested in knowing other signs of sensory problems and any ideas you have that might help these problems. thanks
Oh my goodness there is sooooo much information out there. I recommend getting a book the first one I read was
http://www.amazon.com/Sensory-Sensitive-Child-Practical-Out---Bounds/dp/0060527188/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1350141601&sr=1-1&keywords=out+of+bounds+behavior
And this one next for ideas to help
http://www.amazon.com/Out---Sync-Child-Has-Revised/dp/0399532714/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1350141662&sr=1-1&keywords=out+of+sync+child+has+fun
You can also google Sensory Processing Disorder and get lots of information. An OT (occupational therapist) can really help with sensory problems.
Here is a checklist, and I used this site a lot when getting information
http://www.sensory-processing-disorder.com/sensory-processing-disorder-checklist.html
will he take to a new tigger if you bought one for him?
We love our headphones....he uses them in school and anywhere he might need to concentrate. We also use gum/chewy necklaces for his oral sensory seeking/self regulation.
