Hi I am also A Grandma to my 3 1/2 yr old lil man who is on the spectrum. You are so lucky to have yours living w you so you can Pay! help them out. I am not as lucky as my daughter lives in Florida w my her husband and my lil man and my lil Princess who is 5 months old. My heart breaks everyday as she has no help there and she never gets a break. We r going to visit next month and Grandpa and I will take the kids for the wk so my Daughter and Son in law can have some much needed time alone ... But it just doesn't seem to be enough and My heart is breaking...

Hi, I am a granny to 3 wonderful boys (6, twins 5), they are special needs with duchene's MD and one twin also has spectrum disorder/autism, non-verbal, which hasn't been completely diagnosed yet.

All the boys are in school and doing well.  They and their mom live with us so we can help her with the daily needs of the boys and to give her encouragement and support.  I hope to find encouragement and information for myself to help keep this little family uplifted.

I am glad to be here and can't wait to hear back from you.  Are there any other granny's in the group?

Best regards,

Granny2texans

Hi how did you meet moms locally? My daughter lives in Florida and she needs that same thing as she has no family there to help her and she is hurting as you know only too well. Her son is 3 1/2 and is also high functioning and started speaking when he started early intervention however now heis I the public school system.. How did you get a grant for your daughter? My daughter and son in laws insurance won't cover any type of treatment and they can't afford anything outside of the public school system. Any info you could give me would be wonderful.
Thanks so much,
