If she gets SSI she should get Medicaid.

SSI means straight medicaid. Contact your local Children's Medical Services that deals with special needs kids. They will get your daughter assigned to a nurse care coordinator once she's registered. She will take care of all the Medicaid filings and set you up with a network of specialists.

Get on it ASAP, sometimes it is a wait. Try to negotiate with your daughter's doctors and therapists. Medicaid will pay for billing upto 3 months before approval. She is automatically approved because of SSI.

Man, private HMOs, those copays add up to quite a bit.
