I handed my son his drink earlier, and he said "thank you!" I didn't prompt him, and wasn't expecting him to say it. He has never said thank you to me before, this is a first! He just recently started using words and putting together simple sentences. He is 5. Made me cry. It made me so happy :)

That's great!!!!

I know the feeling, I always have to prompt my son to say excuse me after he burps and he's been saying it on his own lately but I still have to remind him

Aww that's awesome!

Yeah, we don't worry too much about please and thank you's around here, because the speech therapist said its just more words to have to learn, so when my daughter started saying "thank you, please" I nearly fell off my chair
