My son, who is 4 years old as of 23 of last month, has just started to go down the stairs by himself. (with one of us there just to make sure, and to give him encouragement if he needs it)

Before this, he would hold onto one of our hands to go down the stairs. He's been going up the stairs himself for a while now.

Also he used a spoon to eat his snack on his own, recently.

I'm very proud of him.

Way to go. The stairs is a big step( no pun inteneded)  It takes alot of balance and coordination to do that. So happy for you guys

Thank you guys. I praise him every time he does it. It's becoming more and more as well. There were a few times in there that he actually initiated him going down the stairs himself. Very happily surprised and proud. He's growing so fast lately. So much progress in the last year, and most of that in the last few months.

Congratulations!!! I know exactly how you feel, dd 4 1/2 & has improved so much over the last yr. It's like a door opened & she is doing so much more. Still working on the spoon thing, OT says her muscles are still developing. I love watching her grow & learn daily.
