Seriously?...... I spent the last five years teaching my son social awareness so that he can now call me the biggest dork on the planet? LOL My son told me not to go on his ski field trip because I would just act like a giant dork and embarass him. On one hand I am glad that he has enough social awarness to know that being seen with your mom is not cool. On the other hand I kinda want to smack him upside the head lol
I thought only autism moms would truly appreciate this.
It was so cute! It shows he is growing up and being somewhat a normal teen if he thinks this way. Is he in social skills training at school through a speech therapist or psychologist? It can be worked on in a group setting also.

yep he does all of that. I really do take this as a sign that we're making progress.... I just miss the days when we were best buds.

Awww...lol! You did such a good job that now he leaves you out in the cold! Mine told me that it's embarrassing when I kiss him goodbye at the bus stop and wave. You can't win!
...I'd still go though. ;-)

That's awesome! I look forward to the day he can verbalized something like that.
