Omg I'm so scared early intervention is finally coming tomorro, and to tell ya the truth I've been dreading this ever since I made the appt months ago- I had to reschedule a couple times due to my surgery and a vacation, but she's older now (almost 11 mos) so I think they'll be able to evaluate her better than when she was only 8 mos old. But it's at 11:15 tomorrow plz everyone wish us luck and send good vibes our way, I just want it to go well... If she need help or not.. I just want to finally not feel helpless anymore and have some sort of peace of mind..

So they came, 2 developmental specialists and a therapist and they observed and played with Delia thoroughly for anout over an hour, and asked me lots if questions and I went through my long list of red flags I had and they didnt see anything wrong whatsoever.!!! They said shes devwlopmentally on track and not behind at all. They just said she's a busy baby and she's going through Separation anxiety and she's gonna be a busy kid! Omg I'm so relieved and happy to know that she's well!!!! I totally had it in my head that she was going to need services! I think the whole thing is because of the fact she was in the Nicu for a month, so I just became obsessive over every little weird quirky thing that she did. But who knows somewhere down the line she could have issues, my mom has paranoid schizophrenia and it's possible something could pop up..

Please don't be scared. This is the beginning of getting any help you might need. Don't be afraid to ask ANY questions you have and know that we will all be thinking of you...it is going to be ok whatever they say. You are starting so early and they say that is the most important thing to do. Good luck! XO Let us know how it goes...

I remember feeling so nervous too! But once they walked in the door and sat down, everything was ok.

Let us know how it goes.

Oh, I know how scary this can be- I went through it last year with my son when he was 21/2. You are on the right path though and you might find that you are relived talking to them and starting services if necessary. They really are helpful. Just remember that the main goal is to help your child no matter what and this is the first step to helping her make it through this world better. They teach you skills that can be pretty simple, but that you just didn't think of. My son has changed drastically in the last year due to early intervention, private OT and speech therapy. You'll get through it. We are here for you.

You will be so relieved after its over. Once it all sinks in, you will feel good knowing your getting the help you need and that there is a direction to take.
Hope....goes a long ways when dealing with our little ones. Good luck!
