I recently bought a book written by a Japanese teenaged boy with autism. It's been translated into English.

'The Reason I Jump: The Inner Voice of a Thirteen-Year-Old Boy with Autism' by Naoki Higashida (translation by KA Yoshida and David Mitchell).

It will be out in the US on August 21st. I'm only part way through, but I'd recommend it. It's a great insight into the mind of an autistic child.
