Building Sam a sensory room! Come look *PIC BOMB* *added new pic on page 4*
So after I posted about Sams constant stimming and got some great feedback, we got to thinking that maybe he just needed to be more engaged, more stimulation, more FUN, perhaps he is just stimming because he's bored! So we decided to transform our unused middle room into a sensory room just for him! Here it is so far!
Before (this was like the catch all room)
Now (still some more things to do!)
We have a belt swing too, to alternate with the hammock swing
We also have this really cool slide with an enclosed tent underneath that ended up being WAY bigger than we were expecting so it's currently in the living room!
We also have his spinning egg chair and a couple other things to put in his sensory room, a mat for the floor to help him learn balance and boundaries and also some shelves with various lights and a texture bin!
Here he is LOVING his hammock swing. Sam never smiles...but when he got in this swing he smiled so big, he also had the same reaction to the ball pit! He doesnt care for the trampoline yet, but he also doesnt know how to jump yet either!
