If you celebrate Christmas or another gift giving holiday, do you ever let the kids have their gifts early??

Do they get to pick?

We also open gifts on Christmas Eve. But they are always pajamas.

My mom wants to do pajamas and a Christmas dvd to watch this yr.
ds doesn't wear pjs. He just sleeps in boxer briefs. So to me that's a waste.

I do the same thing. But I will usually put something small in the box with the pajamas. For Nicolas it will be a movie or hot wheels car. And my 14 yr old will be a movie or CD.

We have so many different Christmas celebrations that when my daughter gets old enough to care, if she wants to open her gifts from us early I'll probably let her. I have stepparents, so my daughter has 3 sets of grandparents and I have 2 grandmas alive so great grandparents as well. We usually have a minimum of 3 different times she gets gifts and that doesn't include gifts from us, so unless we do Christmas day by ourselves (which we did last year but probably won't again in a long time) I don't care if she opens them of a different day.

My kids will have four Christmases this year. I am a bit worried about how they will handle it. We are going to be with family for the first time is 5 years for Christmas. We'll do Christmas Eve with my mom, Christmas Day with my dad, then Christmas with my whole family the following weekend. My siblings and their spouses and kids will be there. The only person missing will be my dh. I am so excited. I hope my 3 year old handles all the people. I plan to ask my youngest sister (college age) if I can 3 year old proof her room so she can go in there if she needs a break.
