My husband asked Samara why she didn’t like to look at people in their faces when she talked to them. She told him, with a LOT o coaxing of course, that it made her very mad. I get how some people may stare someone down as an attempt to intimidate the other person but do you think the could be part of the reason why she may feel bad as though looking in the face is threatening in some way?

I think its different for everyone.

Sam has said that he can’t always listen and hear what people say AND look at them. That he gets distracted by looking at them and can’t listen and pay attention.

I have difficulty maintaining eye contact for long periods of time because I feel its an invasion of my privacy. (Not sure that makes sense) but I feel unconfortable with that intimacy that eye contact holds. I CAN do it for an appropriate amount of time, but I don’t like it. Lol!
