Is your ASD child good at math?

Granted it’s second grade math but she was calculating the math in a split second! 😳😍

Yes. My 9yr old is amazing with math concepts. About 2 grades ahead (he's in 3rd. Can do 5th grade math easily. He has been this way since he was 4yrs old and teaching himself additions and substractions and counting really high, etc)

Nope.

Logic yes. Once he understands a concept he is fine, but learning and building comfort with new math concepts is anxiety provoking.

Sam is definetely gifted with language.

No and they hate it! My youngest not as much as the other two though.

Up until this year yes, not the math is a bit more abstract. She’s having a tough time, the only other time we had issues with math was estimating she couldn’t understand why she had to guess when she knew the right answer.

Yeah I definitely see that being a problem! 😜 ASD is about the details.

Yes, Zion is almost 10, 4th grade and he's pretty good at teaching me the new math ways with common core. He normally holds an A in math.

My son is in 4th soon to be 5th grade. He is pretty good at math. He's much better at it than I am.

My kids are in third. My son can do prek\kinder math, sadly yes that is a strength. My daughter may know her numbers, maybe.
