Do you take your kids around the neighborhood or nearby neighborhoods to look at outside Christmas lights?

There is the place(on the way to my parents)that we stop at every yr..They have like 20 acres decorated in lights. It is so beautiful and free! LOL

We also plan to take them to the subdivisions around dh's work. They love looking at outside Christmas lights..

We go around town if we have the time...

There is a place up in the south hills that is kinda like what you mentioned...a big property with tons of lights on it...they even have a camel and santa out there sometimes...we always try to go out there.

We do the Luminaria tour every year. We rode the city bus for it once, and froze, so now we just drive our car. Old Town Albuquerque and the Rio Grande Blvd. neighborhoods are the popular spots to go.

We also go to the 'River of Lights' at the Botanic Gardens- lots of lights, people, carolers, hot cocoa, walking and fun!

Most definitely. We go every Friday or Saturday night.

Oh- I'm not sure how popular Luminarias are outside of New Mexico- but FYI they are brown paper lunch bags with sand in the bottom and a votive candle.  The hope is that they will guide the spirit of the Christ child to ones home.  A home done completely in luminarias, with out any electric Christmas lights, can be amazingly beautiful and peaceful looking.
