There's video on the original post, but I couldn't embed it here so check it out when you get a chance.

To celebrate "The Big & Best of 2012," MTV News enlisted some of our favorite headline-generators of the year to swing by our Times Square studio Wednesday (December 12), including Norman Reedus, the fan-favorite scene-stealer from one of television's biggest shows, The Walking Dead."

Naturally, we had to ask the breakout star a few questions about the fate of his character, Daryl, since the midseason finale left the bow-wielding, trash-talking character's survival in question. But due to the mystery and secrecy involved with the show, Reedus couldn't get too specific about what will happen next with Daryl.

"It doesn't look good for Daryl right now," Reedus admitted. "I can't really say, although there were some spoilers [that leaked out]. There are a lot of toes being stepped on in both camps. My brother [Merle] is back and pissed off at everybody."

Reedus went on to say that he didn't expect their family reunion to be warm and fuzzy, but he also admitted that he didn't think it would go down how it did.

"[Merle's] pissed off everybody, so a lot of people want to hurt him, there are a lot of people he wants to hurt, and I'm kind of in the middle of both," Reedus said. "So it wasn't exactly what I was looking forward to."

During our chat, Reedus revealed other fun facts, such as the most unique gifts he's received from "Dead" fans: One sent him a breast implant, and another fan handed him a bag of squirrel meat with some yellow dipping sauce.

"People are pretty strange," the actor said with a chuckle.

When discussion turned toward the big entertainment stories of the year, particularly the biggest headlines with regard to movies, Reedus revealed that he hadn't been able to see as many films this year as he would've liked due to the remote location of where "The Walking Dead" shoots, but said he is a fan of two of the year's biggest movies: "The Hunger Games" and "The Dark Knight Rises."

"I like Jennifer [Lawrence]. She was great," Reedus said, adding that he also loved her breakout and Oscar-nominated performance alongside John Hawkes in "Winter's Bone."

Stay with us here at for more of our eight-hour "Big & Best of 2012" live stream, which is happening across all digital properties, including,, and and will include more exciting celebrity appearances from Taylor Swift with a tease of her "I Knew You Were Trouble" video and a Bruno Mars performance of his new single "Young Girls."

I'm a Facebook fan of the Walking Dead.  They asked the question, "Who is your favorite character?" or something like that.  About 75% of the people said Daryl.  And then one guy posted, "STOP SAYING DARYL OR THE WRITERS WILL KILL HIM OFF, JUST TO "F" WITH US!"  I couldn't agree more.

I just heard Shonda Rhimes (creator of Grey's Anatomy) on Oprah and she said she had to take Grey's Anatomy back from the fans and write about what she wanted and not just want the fans wanted.
