Tree, bush and plant placement?

Do you ladies ever have trouble deciding where to put ppermanent plants..such as trees, bushes, berry patches and grape vines.
we have an acre and do most of our living on the back half of it. The bottom half is a completely empty field. We are always up in the air about what to do with that bottom half. I would love to turn it into an orchard, but we may expand our business down there one day.
I am hoping to finally get a few fruit trees this year, as well as some more grape vines and blueberry bushes. I am once again struggling to figure out where to put them because they are perpermanent.

How do you decided where to put these items?

I prefer to put them along the perimeter of my property or existing fences.  Apple trees line the fenceline to the west of the house.  Grapevines work great growing along our fenced back yard.  The cherry tree is on the edge of the garden in the east yard.  When I had blueberries they went in a corner that I wasn't using.
