Am I a total coupon brat, or would you have done the same?
In the past 3 days, I've already contacted corporate for Walgreen's and Dollar General with complaints.. and plan on sending a complaint on a manager at CVS, too. I am not one to complain a lot, but this past week I have just ran into the WORST managers.
I already mentioned my CVS trip in another post, but to recap -- the manager wouldn't let me use a coupon and was VERY rude to me in front of other customers. I tried to show her how the coupon was worded should allow me to use it on the product I was using it for, but she just kept repeating herself & got louder with me each time. So I gave up and left.
At Dollar General, I was using the $5/25 coupon that they put out on Saturdays. The store manager was the one checking me out and when I tried to hand her another coupon after the $5/25 coupon, she said she couldn't do that. She tried it anyways and of course, it went through. Then I tried to hand her 4 BIC razor coupons for each of the 4 packs of razors I had and she said she could only accept one because it says "one per purchase." I tried to explain the difference to her between "purchase" and "transaction" and she said she couldn't go against what corporate told her. I messaged corporate asking if this was correct and the district manager called me. She said she was appalled that her store manager didn't understand the coupon policy and even gave me a $10 gift card to make up for it. I was really impressed and how well she handled it.
At Walgreens (this is the WORST!), I was doing the Kraft deal that's been so big this week. I did the transaction absolutely correct but the rewards didn't print. Since it wasn't a RR that Walgreen's was advertising for, I had no proof that it was supposed to print and they couldn't do anything about it. I told them I just wanted to return the items, because without the rewards, it just wasn't a good deal. They were nice about it, but the manager couldn't get the return to add up right. So even though the receipt showed how much I paid, in order for her to issue a refund, she had to manually enter it all and she couldn't get it correct. I finally told her not to worry about it, just to give me back what she could. It was only short a dollar or two, but if I'm LOSING money, doesn't that defeat the whole point? So I left with nothing, not even my coupons because they had already dropped them down in the box and couldn't get the key to open it. I contacted corporate about this and they had the store manager call me. It was the same lady I dealt with the day before, which was just totally awkward. She apologized and that was about it. But I've had problems with RR not printing several times before, so I just gave up on Walgreen's.
Whew, this was long. But needed to vent! So, am I just a brat or do you think these instances needed to be reported?
