YES. He's been teething like mad. Eats all through the night, hardly eats during the day. MAMA NEEDS SLEEP. I haven't slept in 7 months.

I am willing to try feeding him rice cereal when he's 5mos old.

No to baby cereal. lol That shit tastes like wallpaper glue, and has about as much nutrional value, too.

The Nugget's first food will probably be avocado, just like his sister had. Very nutritious, loads of good fats, easy to eat and pretty inexpensive.

We don't do cereals, but once my little man is 6mths old & can do the following, he can eat good healthy nutritional food to his hearts content (within reason)-

  1. Sit up without my assistance
  2. Lose his tongue thrust relfex
  3. Develop pincher reflex (pick things up with thumb & forefinger)
  4. Feed self using pincher reflex

We might do some peas, avacado, or carrots for 1st food.

Asher is still EBF. At his 4 month old well baby visit his doctor said to start him on baby cereal when he's 5 months old (because BF babies don't get enough iron) and then start green and orange veggies at 6 months (one at a time every 3-4 days) and then fruits.

I'm not sure if I'll follow her advice. I'll definitely wait till he's 5 months old and see if he's interested and go from there.

That's not true!!

The ceral will actually make it harder for the baby to get the iron from your bm. They did a study on iron and ebf babies. Not one baby who was ebf for at least seven months had anemia or low iron. Obviously ebfing babies get plenty of iron from bm.

Op - Avvanah will be ebf for a year. After she'll start table foods.

I plan on totally skipping the cereal and I didn't do it with my daughter either.  And I don't plan on starting him on solids until at least 6 months if he shows the signs of being ready.
