Yes I have it from my 4 year old and no it did not work. I do not like the idea of encouraging young kids to consistantly watch t.v. I do let my kids watch t.v. but I do limit it to just a few hours spread out over the day, but the way the system works is the child has to continously watch the screen in order to have the possibility of picking anything up. I do use it now for my 4 year old because he has a speech delay and is now able to watch the movies (which are only about a half hour long each) and repeat the words as it is said a few times on the screen. he is in preschool also, so he is recgonizing some of the letters too.
In my opinion, should you chose to purchase it, it is great for a toddler/preshooler as a learning tool, but not as a means to teach an infant to read.
