We went to Marengo Caves in Marengo Indiana. DH and a friend got into caving last summer. Well all he talked about was caving and had to go buy a headlamp and new GOOD flashlights. Well they came to find out all the caves except the toured ones were shut down. There was something going on with the bats. People were taking some disease from cave to cave and it was harming them so to protect the bats the caves they wanted to go to were shut down. They ended up going to a toured one. Later I was looking online at caves. I found Marengo Cave and knew I had to go. The pictures were beautiful and the cave was big. There are two separate tours for the one cave. Plus they have a get dirty and crawl around area. Here is the website.
This cave was discovered by CHILDREN in 1883. It just blows my mind really. Two kids crawling down in a hole with noting to see by except candles. They heard about the cave and snuck out to go and explore. Here are some pics we took.
My last road trip was to Missouri. My sister got married at The Bridal Cave.
Our last family trip was to Houston/South Padre Island, we had a lot of fun! =)
