by vampwannabe83 on Aug. 28, 2008 at 10:27 PMI'd say as long as he doesn't have a blanket or anything around to smush up against he should be fine. I mean when you think about it, we were all belly sleepers and we're all o.k. |

by GavinsMommy125 on Aug. 28, 2008 at 10:31 PMmy son started sleeping on his belly when he started moving his head around. I think that once they can move their head your ok. But if your not sure what to do sometimes the baby's doctor can give you advice. Pluse once he starts rolling he'll just sleep however he wants to |

by LoriAnn5674 on Aug. 29, 2008 at 7:52 AMThey say not to have a baby under 6mo sleep on their belly because of increased risk of SIDS. But if it's the only way he'll sleep, what can you do. Talk to your pediatrician. |

by AnnieMcD on Aug. 29, 2008 at 8:05 AMThey do make the snuggle type things that work like rolled up blankets on either side of baby... Here... these things...
That will keep baby safely on his back while still feeling safe and secure. They like to sleep on their tummies because that feels more like being in the womb, but this is like sleeping in your arms. You may also want to get one of the teddy bears that makes the heartbeat noise so that he feels safer and less likely to wiggle around. I did both of these things with my son cause I have an intense fear of sids. If something as simple as keeping my baby on his back can possibly save his life, I will do anything to do it... -- Annie Do you wanna come with me? 'Cause if you do then I should warn you, you're gonna see all sorts of things. It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what it will be: the trip of a lifetime. -- The Doctor |

by Chan342 on Aug. 29, 2008 at 11:18 AMboth of my boys slept on their tummys when they were under 6 months. I would wake up every couple hours and check on them the first night after that I didn't. I never had a problem. they slept better as well. eventually they learn to sleep on their backs. |

by Gages_Mommy06 on Aug. 29, 2008 at 11:30 AMMy oldest (will be 3 in January) refused to sleep on his back when he was a baby. He sleeps on his side more then anything now. My youngest (almost 5 months) sleeps anyway that seems comfortable at that moment =P I tried the snuggle things with my oldest, and he hated em, so I just left well enough alone. I'd check on him randomly, but, other then that, I just left him be. Same with my youngest now.

by cherylmoore on Aug. 30, 2008 at 12:55 AMnathan is 10 weeks and also will only sleep on his tummy... im scared to death of sids... i usually let him fall asleep then when he is deep into it i turn him over when he wont know the difference... if i try to lay him down to sleep on his back when hes not completely out, his little arms and legs go flying , reminds me of a turtle on its back trying to get turned over... honestly sometimes i am so tired that he just sleeps on his tummy for a while, and i wake up and realize and im terrifed and rush to check on him... needless to say, hes sleeping better than i am these days
