whats it called?

first of all, i didnt make these earings, im just using this pic as an example. now, the thing i circled, what are those called? and what exactly is their purpose?

Those are usually already attached to the earring findings sometimes. I don't know their purpose but some come with those, and other's don't lol

oh, i thought they were bought seperate and then added. i have some of the earing that goes through the ear hole (sorry i dont know what those are called either lol) and im interested in making earings to sell on etsy,

It's just excess wire wrapped around the loop that you hang the "earring" from. You don't buy them. You only have to add them if you are making your own hooks. I add them when I do hooks because I think thy add strength. It's harder to Pull the hook open if they get snagged or yanked.

Very crude, it was my first attempt at making Ear wires! Lol and Closest example to pull from stash. You can see I have 2 wraps. I do it to "close" the hoop. Gl in jewelry making!
